Our YWI kickoff was a rousing success — standing room only! Thank you to the parents, supporters, and all manner of community champions who attended to celebrate the 20 young women that are our new Young Women’s Advisory Council (YWAC). These young women are the next generation of leaders in our Springfield community. Attendees were deeply moved by the powerful voices of the young women, who spoke about their future visions, dreams for Springfield, and their own personal and professional goals to change the world.
These young women will work together with adult mentors to create a roadmap for their collective futures. The kickoff highlighted some key issues that girls and young women face in the city of Springfield, and what our YWAC plans to do about it. Together, we can make positive change for young women in the Springfield community. Stay tuned to see what these amazing young women will do!
