By October 3, 2018June 30th, 2021No Comments

Hop on the bus! The Women’s Fund has secured a bus to take anyone from Western Massachusetts going to the New England Women’s Policy Conference in Boston on November 16. The cost for riding our bus is $30 per person- this does not include conference registration.  Our bus will leave at 6AM the day of the conference and leave by 5PM. (Get your bus ticket here) The biannual conference, begun in 2014, serves to coordinate the activities of those working to increase the economic security of women and their families.

This year the conference keynote speaker will be Tarana Burke, Director of Girls for Gender Equity, but best known as the founder of the “#me too” movement. In addition, Ignite, a national organization that encourages young women to actively participate in the political process and advocate and lobby for issues they care about, will be giving the open plenary “Young Women and Political Leadership.”

The four breakout conference tracks include: Young Women Leaders, Issues Impacting Low Wage Workers, Sexual Harassment in the Workplace – Policy Solutions, and Pay Equity – Implementation.

The Women’s Fund of Western Massachusetts is a sponsor of the conference and we’ll be taking members of the current classes of LIPPI and YWI to the event. We hope to see many of you at the conference and if you’d like to avoid traffic and parking issues come along with us on our bus!
