Program Assistant Intern

Position Title: Women’s Fund of Western Massachusetts (WFWM) Program Assistant Intern

Position Summary:

The Program Assistant Intern will support the Program Officer with all WFWM programs including; grantmaking strategy, The Young Women’s Initiative, Community Investments and Research. The list of job duties can be expanded based on skill level and interest. This is a paid internship position (roughly 15 hours per week.)

Major Responsibilities and Areas for Learning:

The Young Women’s Initiative

  • Coordinates and amplifies The Young Women’s Initiative’s (YWI) session logistics, curriculum materials, social media presence and other assignments
  • Gathers, records, maintains and reports demographic information about the program generally and each specific event for the program
  • May take the lead in planning and coordinating one or more field trips or events for program participants


  • Organizes files in a newly established database, creating summaries of previous grantee projects, and may use statistics to encapsulate community impact
  • Creates a grantmaking document that outlines procedure for applying for grants and disseminating funds
  • Summarizes previous grantee projects for use in a report to track community impact

Community Investments

  • Assist the Program Officer with any additional projects that align with the community investments strategy which could include research, writing publications, and capacity building projects


  • Demonstrated commitment girls/women’s rights and leadership
  • High school diploma or equivalency required. Some college experience; strong preference for an undergraduate junior or senior or graduate student
  • Ability to meet deadlines, stay organized and attention to detail
  • Strong research, writing, organization and communication skills
