Nicole M. Young-Martin serves as the Community Investments Manager for the Women’s Fund of Western Massachusetts. Her areas of expertise include civic engagement, grantmaking, event planning, program development, assessment/evaluation, and education. She has taught Composition and Writing courses for several Pioneer Valley-based universities and regularly leads creative writing workshops for youth, educators, activists, and community leaders. A proud alumna of WFWM’s Leadership Institute for Political and Public Impact, Nicole is involved in her community, serving on several nonprofit boards and committees including for WAM Theatre and the Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts.
Nicole is also a performance poet and playwright whose work has been performed in various venues across Massachusetts, New York, and Michigan.
Nicole earned a Bachelor of Theatre Arts from the University of Michigan Ann Arbor, a Master of Fine Arts in Theatre Management from Wayne State University, and a Master of Arts in English from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She is pursuing a Doctor of Education in Higher Education Leadership and Organizational Studies at Bay Path University. Originally from Detroit, Michigan, Nicole currently resides in Windsor, Connecticut.
