We’ve partnered with Women Speak Up! to offer to our friends a free, six-week, public speaking course for women and teen girls. The entire class in online and includes a weekly instructor video and readings. As part of the course, participants will prepare a short persuasive talk that will encourage others to take action. The course begins on August 20th.
Cathy McNally, course instructor, is a corporate communications trainer and presentation coach who founded Women Speak Up! where she trains activists, advocates, candidates, and social entrepreneurs to sell ideas, change minds, and move people to action.
McNally has worked with the Women’s Fund for several years to train LIPPI participants in public speaking skills. It’s a popular workshop because Cathy helps take the fear out of public speaking with humor and tips on becoming a more comfortable, confident, and compelling speaker.
Cathy is encouraging young women as well as adult women to register for the course. It’s never too early to learn skills that can help you make your point. The deadline to register is August 17. At the completion of the course, participants will receive a certificate of completion and an individual detailed speech evaluation by the instructor.
