Learn about Impostor Syndrome with Dr. Valerie Young

December 7, 2019 at 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm

Free

Join the Women’s Fund of Western Massachusetts on December 7th at the University of Massachusetts Amherst where we’ll learn about the Impostor Syndrome from internationally-known expert on the syndrome, Dr. Valerie Young. Dr. Valerie Young is the author of the award-winning book The Secret Thoughts of Successful Women: Why Capable People Suffer from the Impostor Syndrome and How to Thrive in Spite of It (Crown Business/Random House), now available in six languages. At this interactive presentation, Dr. Young will share what the Impostor Syndrome is, where it comes from, and the tools needed to overcome it.

Dr. Young has supported the work of the Women’s Fund for over 5 years by training and educating women from the Leadership Institute for Political and Public Impact (LIPPI). She has led in-depth sessions on public speaking, offering tangible tips and tools for improving confidence, clarity, and overcoming fear when communicating publicly or professionally. Dr. Young remains a dedicated and steadfast supporter of the Fund and our LIPPI women.

Please RSVP below to save your seat for this engaging presentation.

Location: The session will be held in South College W245 on the UMass Amherst campus (Map of Campus). South College is located near the library (the library is easily identifiable from most anywhere on campus – it is a tall, narrow, red brick building – the tallest on campus). W245 is on the ground level of the building. Here is a link that shows a photo of South College – and you can see the library off to the right.

Parking: Parking is free on Saturdays in all lots that are not 24-hour permit lots (feel free to explore this map). The parking garage is very close and costs $1.75/hour.
