Save the date to celebrate this year’s cohorts of the Leadership Institute for Political and Public Impact (LIPPI) and Young Women’s Initiative (YWI) programs!

Graduates from both programs will have completed 9-months of classes that provide them with the tools, training, and confidence they need to become our region’s community leaders and elected officials. This celebration will be held at the Fuller Arts Center at Springfield College.

We are pleased and honored to announce that this year’s keynote speaker will be Denise Jordan, Executive Director of the Springfield Housing Authority.

The Leadership Institute for Political and Public Impact, a core program of the Women’s Fund of Western Massachusetts, graduated the first cohort in 2010. Since that time, over 280 women from Western Massachusetts have gone through the program and gone on to run for political office, been appointed to boards, and taken leadership positions in their communities.

The Young Women’s Initiative is part of the National Philanthropic Collaborative of Young Women’s Initiatives. The Women’s Fund’s YWI program is one of eight in the country and this year’s graduates will be the second cohort to complete the program. The YWI program works with young women and girls in Springfield to address inequality challenges they are facing and guide them in making proposals for change.

– This event is free and open to the public, but RSVPs are requested. The program will start promptly at 5:30 p.m.
